Eight people have been injured in an attack by a knifeman in Keighley, West Yorkshire Police have said.
A 24-year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital after he was stabbed in the town's Victoria Road at 2215 BST on Thursday.
Seven people then suffered knife injuries near the Livery Rooms pub (Wetherspoons) in North Street at 0030 BST on Friday.
Three women and one man are in a stable condition in hospital. West Yorkshire Police have arrested a 19-year-old man.
A force spokesman said the man had been detained by members of the public near the pub.
He is in police custody, where he is being assessed for mental health issues.
Eyewitness Samantha Jones said two of her friends were injured in the attack.
"It was absolutely terrifying," she said. "I was shaking, I was so scared. I didn't know what was going to happen.
"It just makes me want to move away from here."
Det Supt Steve Payne, of the homicide and major inquiries team, appealed for witnesses to both incidents.
North Street has been closed at its junctions with Cavendish Street and Alice Street while detectives carry out inquiries.
Police said this was likely to cause "severe disruption" to traffic in the area.
It gets worse - with Keighleys existing reputation...

I quite agree. However, someone has been arrested and charged with that horrific assualt and is currently in custody awaiting trial.
I'd politely suggest that the cinema in question get their act in order while they still have some customers left. There have been letters in the YEP complaining of people disrupting films and a lack of action / interest from the staff (and who dare say anything now?) at the cinema and this week a patron of the same cinema was carjacked at the sharp end of a machete in the car park after watching a film.
We've stopped going to that particular venue after work already due to the groups of feral youths wandering about both inside and outside the cinema on an evening.
You also have to wonder where senior police officers priorities lie when whilst the streets get increasingly lawless, they can spare 5 patrol cars to park up alongside a 10 mile stretch of dual carriageway with radar guns pointing out of their window, as I witnessed this afternoon._________________ The advert above is nowt to do with me!

You have my sympathies for your experiences in Peterborough if they make either Vue cinema appear a paragon of cinematic excellence.
Insufficient staff to deal with selling tickets or overpriced beverages let alone get a grip on anti-social behaviour once the film has started from groups of kids (ringing their mates, gobbing off, kicking seats, texting, etc) many of whom are clearly there for the day.
We've started going to Cineworld at Glasshoughton instead._________________ The advert above is nowt to do with me!

Roughly 2 staff on show every day, poor quality screens, seats that are 20 years old and hurt to sit in sometimes, the usual Peterborough population who make the populous of Beeston look polite, floors so sticky I've had to go back for a shoe before, mess from food that's never cleaned up and the view is atrocious because there's barely any banking to the seating. Plus your stories about annoying kids.
I've seen multiple films there where I haven't actually seen the film due to the projector/sound breaking._________________ |

That sounds like the old lyric in armley or the "flea pit" as it was more affectionately known |
