| Shame.....When fit, a fantastic player. But given his dodgy knees, perhaps for once we won't be paying a player to sit out games.

Thanks and goodbye.
Who can complain about him wanting to play for a bigger club (Bristol City finished 10th in the Championship)?_________________ The advert above is nowt to do with me!

I wouldn't say Bristol City are a bigger club, because league position alone doesn't decide that, but they are a more attractive club to play for at this moment than we are. Better wages, better stage, higher level of football all around.
Good luck to him. A quality defender if fit - I wonder how much his lack of fitness was down to him never getting a game for Reading.

| I recall seeing on LUTV about a month or so ago, Bates saying then, we wouldn't sign Sodje permanantly, summat about dodgy knees.

Can't argue with that too much. Then again, I seem to remember Paul McGrath, who played well into his mid-thirties despite suffering from dodgy knees for years and hardly ever training between games.
In fairness, with Sodje probably expecting Championship wages, I don't suppose it was ever the sort of risk Bates was going to take. Not after being stuck with Bakke and Stone in years past.
Assuming Rui is back to his best next season and Huntington is fit and ready, we might not need another CB. If we do sign one, he'd need to be better than the ones we have and free of injury worries.
