Dear Mr Harvey,
Having just read the latest release from the club regarding the Play-Off Final and ticket applications I feel I need to express my surprise that procedures are not in place to allow fans to be informed of success or failure in the use of the web based application form.
You will recall I am sure the less than satisfactory PR generated over the tickets for Cardiff 06 play-off final, most of it avoidable with a little common sense (which alas was in short supply at the time). I still remember the anxiety I was put through for the best part of a week until confirmation of my ticket was received. I was (and still am) a home and away season ticket holder (a Surrey based one to boot), I should have been able to be relaxed, comfortable in the knowledge that my loyalty would be rewarded without question. Instead that time felt like a near betrayal and it hardened mine (and others) attitude towards the club and how it went about its business.
Two years on and their is a danger of a repeat. I (like many others I suspect) took advantage of the early application procedure in place before last nights thrilling win, all that "popped up" was confirmation the form was received, nothing indicated that the form is correctly or otherwise filled in, how could it as its an automatic reply system. So as we speak today's announcement has brought back the memories and issues of 2006. Anyone reading today's statement has no way of knowing if they are amongst the "numerous" applications to be discarded. Does the club not owe season ticket holders (and particularly Home and Away season ticket holders) the courtesy of communication, is it beyond the capacity of a multi-million pound business to communicate back to season ticket holders (and especially those who have already renewed) who have made a mistake or is it all about money?
You will be experienced enough (and the Chairman certainly is) to know that in the next 9 days something will come along and cause inevitable controversy with regards to tickets, it would be nice if this time you recognised a early mistake, rectified it soon (preferably before tickets are dispatched which is the time likely to provoke reaction) and helped rebuild trust between loyal fans and the club. I suggest you start by rescinding toady's statement and promising instead to communicate (email or text) with all season ticket applicants to either inform them of success or indicating tickets have been reserved whilst awaiting missing details. Such an move should be within the capacity of the club to action and will go a long way to showing a more customer focus now than was apparent in May 06. It should be about loyal fans not the convenience of the club that matters!
Yours

| I could not believe the statement that forms filled out incorrectly have been discarded. What does that even mean - does it mean if you made a mistake and put something in the wrong box (transposing to entries) or by mistake added an extra character - something which the simplest bit of common sense could fix that your application will be discarded?

Thanks for your mail and your comments.
I'd like to apologise for any confusion this has caused.
I have now amended the Play-Off ticket information and the latest news story should make things a lot clearer.
