Don't know if anyone ever had a pre-game pint in there (Pat?   ) but The Waggon and Horses on Elland Road has closed, probably forever.

Apparently only a dozen or so people turned up on the last night and the building is now boarded up and "For Sale".

Can't say I recall ever going in, but it's always a bit sad to see (yet another) pub close.

It is always a shame when a pub goes tits up but chuff me that Wagon n Horses was rough Evil or Very Mad . Never been in other than a match day but there weren’t half some boyos in.

Went past the place when we played the Barcodes at the beginning of the Prem relegation season. They flung a couple of glasses at us just in case we were Geordies. They just missed us and smashed on the road around us. Manged to lick a few slurps up before it dried up though.

We once had a school christmas party around the corner from the new penny (6th formers) and it was fancy dress - one of my mates got severely pissed (more than the rest of us) and marched across to the new penny, burst through the doors and declared everyone in the pub a set of raving poofters (he was posh and from Ilkley   ) - unfortunately he forgot he was dressed as a sexy nun and the pub pissed itself laughing - we carried him out (before he got thrown out) unfortunately we were dressed as a musketeer (in lovely tights) and a caveman so we also took some stick (not literally  Shocked ) whilst carrying him out of the doors - bet it made the punters night  Twisted Evil

Been in the Wagon n Horses a couple of times as a mate used to live round the corner.  Not so bad really, although it was full of hard men and if you had matching shoes on you were in real trouble.  I thought they may rename it Duck n weave personally?   Laughing

Shame anotherr boozer has fallen prey to the "take out " culture.

Not sure - it went on to become the music rooms and now I think it is something else - it was over three floors and we were on the top floor (I think one of the venues below was also a "meeting place" for salami hiders)

And you just happened to be in there wearing tights, with your mate dressed as a nun?  Shocked I'm sure that is completely innocent... Wink
