I know its about Rushden but this was posted on TDF today and I thought someone might like it:

It could be a taxing time at Nene Park tomorrow. HM Revenue and Customs final will be taking place according to the Official Site Diary.

The match was originally scheduled to last for the normal 90 minutes but the Customs and Excise boys insisted on adding an addtional 17.5%, thus extending the match to 105 minutes and 45 seconds.
However, the Inland Revenue chaps then decided that this should be reduced by 40%, in line with their normal practices, so the duration of the match will now be 63 minutes and 27 seconds (after income tax and VAT).

Yellow and red cards will be replaced by compliance notices and P.45's respectively.

Finally, match result and reports are being sent immediately after the game by courier so it is unlikely that anyone will ever find out what happened!

someone else carried the story on

Of course this is the Scottish Tax Area final because the Northamptonshire Area final is taking place in Liverpool.

The game may not take place as it was difficult to get through to Nene Park and the kick off time was then put on hold.
