Personally i think these reasons are not good enough.

3 reasons for us not being accepted (from sky sports)

1. Document accepting 15 points.

From LUFC

We did accept the imposed condition of a 15-point penalty subject to an appeal to Member clubs. As at the 3rd August 2007 we had no option but to do so. If we had not the club would have been lost forever which was far too big a price for anyone to pay. It is galling therefore that we are criticised for the delay in bringing the appeal when it was delays by the Football League that effectively backed us into this corner in the first place.

We were backed into a corner and had to accept

2. Un-fairness on other clubs

Pettyest excuse ever. Not a justified excuse. we went into this for justification on the 15 points its us and the football leauge not the rest of the teams going for promotion aswell.

3. Time taken to reach arbitration.

From LUFC

The panel were critical of the length of time taken by Leeds United in bringing this action to have the 15-point decision overturned. We feel this finding is unjust as the club sought to oppose the imposition of the penalty from the 30th August 2007 onwards.

The football leauge dragged its heals and we take the rap for it. Thus another unfair reason.

I've been searching everywhere and I still can't find an article on the Net in which the reasons for the decision are given. The only thing I can find is a general comment on the LUFC site, BBC and Sky Sports

Quote:
An independent three-man arbitration reached its verdict behind closed doors in London, ruling the League had not acted unfairly when docking the points.

None give any detail about why the panel thought this way

I noticed that the LUFC site did say that the panel were critical of the length of time taken by Leeds, but it does not say that this was the basis of their decision or a factor, merely a criticism.

Also it makes one think why an independent body would make such a statement if it were not true. The Official response that 'the club sought to oppose...' is also interesting - what does 'sought to oppose' mean in reality. Its a pretty meaningless comment and doesn't necessarily mean that anything was actually done until a lot later.

Anyway the main reason that I want to read a statement from an independent source about the reasons for the decision is that I don't trust Bates and his manipulations of reality.

Lots of chairmen no doubt thought it would be a good idea to give Ken bates and Leeds United a damn good slap across the face with the imposition of the -15 points.

Lots of those very same chairmen will now be nervously twitching as they see that the Revenue will challenge any CVA and they won't be able to comply with the league rules. The precedent has been set, it will be -15 points now for ANY club that goes into administration on top of the -10  they get already.

As I've said on other threads, they will reap the whirlwind they have sown.

The whole arbitration process has been a farrce from start to finish and anyone who thought we'd ever get a bean out of it must be a hopeless optimist. Lets move on.

After reading the official papers on the other thread I think "smoke & mirrors" from Leeds New Co Ltd might be appropriate  Evil or Very Mad
