Without wishing to cause offence, I hope Mr NE1 is a proper Audi driver and not actually a BMW driver who is seeking to avoid being labelled a nob by driving something less oafish?

Now we've had a few weeks, ther new show is settling in.
It's a good show, but doesn't live up to the high standards of the original LOM. sadly the Gene Genie has been watered down considerably - or is he meant to have mellowed with age (he doesn't look much older!)
It also falls into the trap of not knowing if it's a comedy, or a drama, or a comedy drama. Or a political thriller judging by last nights show.
Still, it's one of the few shows worth watching on the telly.
PS - anyone else spot the Austin Maestro van outside the police station when Gene drove off? Tut, tut, they weren't around in 1981... |

Final episode of the first series tonight.
My overall opinion of the series has been well, average.
It has little of the ingenuity or pace of LoM and they have been really lazy with external locations - nearly all crime in London in 1981 clearly happened on the same industrial estate. Plus attention to detail has been poor - a sure sign that corners are being cut.
Anyone else spot the 2001 Merc Sprinter van a couple of weeks ago...?
The music has (mainly) been excellent and there have been moments of sheer brilliance, but these have been few and far between.
The main crime though has been reducing the Gene Genie to a caricature fit only to be wound up and let loose with a one-liner.
LoM was the TV highlight of the week. A2A is simply the best thing on a Thursday at 9pm.
I'll watch tonight, but I'm fully expecting a non-ending / cliff hanger as options are already in place for Series 2. I'm torn between hoping they'll end it here and spare us more of the same averageness, and praying they make the second series what we should have had this time round.

I've just purchased the Ashes to Ashes Original Soundtrack.
Fandabydozy. The best thing about the show and I'm currently playing it so loud the windows are rattling.
Full track list:
1. Introduction - Dialogue: Alex Drake
2. David Bowie - Ashes To Ashes
3. Visage - Fade To Grey
4. The Human League- Love Action
5. Duran Duran - Girls On Film
6. Dexys Midnight Runners - Geno
7. OMD - Souvenir
8. The Stranglers - No More Heroes
9. The Clash - I Fought The Law
10. Heaven 17 - (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thing
11. Interlude - Dialogue: You're Nicked
12. Edmund Butt - Gene Genie (Gene Hunt's theme from `Ashes To Ashes')
13. The Passions - In Love With A German Film Star
14. Altered Images - Happy Birthday
15. Joe Jackson - It's Different For Girls
16. Flying Lizards - Money
17. The Beat - Doors Of Your Heart
18. The Ruts - Staring At The Rude Boys
19. The Teardrop Explodes - Reward
20. Tenpole Tudor - Swords Of A Thousand Men
21. Bryan Ferry - Let's Stick Together
22. Ultravox - Vienna
23. Edmund Butt - Title Music from `Ashes To Ashes'
24. Epilogue: Dialogue: Fandabydozy
If that little lot ain't worth a tenner, then I don't know what is. |

Finally - They released the DVD's to LOM Season 2
First few episodes were a bit "farken hurry up and get yer leg over" are all modern day Englishman as soft as Sam Tyler????
Anyway the last 3 eps worked up nicely to a reasonably fitting end. Even if some twonk had told me he jumps, I wasnt prepared for the "happy ending" bit
Overall a great series (not as good as any of the Auf Wedersehein ones but much bteer than most)

In answer to your 1st question
http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Ashes...4a343d3710c8b8e842f83a86826130c00
and to answer your second, I dont rate Lewis, to me he is a very weak character.
