Stealing this idea from Waccoe (but expanding it from Leeds United players to famous people in general)

Have you ever been to a famous persons house, seen them in the traffic with you, done work for them etc.

Tell us about your celebrity encounters here

Seen Michael Duberry at his house (in his drive to be precise) (which was opposite the house a friend of mine lives in)

Had a good chat with Mike Whitlow at Centre Parcs (Oasis) in Penrith about 4 years ago (we were both waiting for our children to come down a slide in the swimming pool - top bloke

Seen Alan Smith several times when he had his yellow ferrari (stuck out like a sore thumb in middleton) and my brother sees his brother on a regular basis as his brother is training to be (or might now be) a gas engineer.

Had Jon Newsome & Mad Mick Henningan present our football trophies at our awards night many moons ago

Served Chris Fairclough at the Queens in Pudsey when he was their as the guest of some Leeds United supporters club (I think) - it was just after he suffered that head injury and his forehead looked like it had a zip in it.

Nearly had my head taken off by Robert Molenaar's wayward golf shot at Hollins Hall in Bradford - he was playing golf with Stuart McCall & another of our ex players that went to Bradford (swedish / dutch / danish origin  )

Spoke to Rio in M&S in Leeds

Mate / Colleague of mine had Lee Sharpe as his best man at his wedding (unfortunately I didn't know this at the time and had spent 20 minutes slagging him off as a useless waster  )

Mate of mine did the kitchen & bedroom fitting at Tony Dorigo's house (he said his wife was exceptionally fit)

Dad often finds himself fishing next to Norman Hunter

And slightly off topic - I have spent three lunchtimes sitting next to Steve Davis, one with Dennis Taylor and one with Glenn McCrory

Got to speak to some of the players at a testamonial (players were parking up in the West Stand Car Park) (I think it was John Charles' testamonial but I might be wrong - long time ago  ) - got to briefly speak to (& the signatures of) John Charles, Eddie Gray, Billy (I think), Micheal Platini & Kenny Dalglish (although I might be getting different testamonials mixed up)

Also got to spend 30 minutes talking to Alan Clarke in the Corporate Hospitality bit at ER before the Leeds United vs Man City game (first game of the season) - client I was "entertaining" knew Frannie Lee of MC - so he went up to talk to him before hand and Alan Clarke came over - great guy (although he sounded drunk to me  )

Met Nigel Benn in Tenerife (when he was training for the Eubank fight I think) - top (scary) bloke - spent the night getting pissed whilst he told us boxing stories

Also met George Best in Linekers Bar in Tenerife and got him to sign a linekers bar T-Shirt wishing my sunday league side good luck for the coming season

Walked alongside Patsy Kensit in Paris (years ago) and also saw Tom Hanks in a pub in Lincoln when he was filming the Da Vinci Code.

Gary Speed came along to see (I assume his local sunday league side) - East Keswick play us (Pudsey Amateurs) at their place.

And on an even sadder note I have held the "real" rider cup  Embarassed

Do tell.... Twisted Evil Owt like this?

Shocked

I've met Lucas Radebe a couple of times - first when he was out injured not long after signing for us we repaired his Ford Mondeo (who needs a Ferrari?) and then several years later in Asda at Killingbeck where he was shopping with all the family. He really is the nicest, most good natured bloke you could wish to meet.

Gary Speed used to lodge at a house opposite my dads when he first signed for us. Pleased my sister no end that did... Rolling Eyes

Met Harry Gration too. Nice bloke.

Stepney says to me. “ Good game eh?. Think well get one back Though”. I says “yerrr Rolling Eyes , typical spawny scum twats” gave the old fella a  shake (Not Stepney) and walked off.

Thats him

He was crap at golf

I had to wait for him to hit his shot TWICE after he duffed the first one  Rolling Eyes

There were others playing that day as it was a golf event with the Bradford Bulls and Bradford City and somehow me and my mate managed to go out in the middle of them  Cool

Robbie Paul was in front of us playing (golf) with the sponsor and the golf pro from Hollins Hall and there were loads of other players who I recognised but didn't know their names  Cool

Right, where to start  Confused

Last year at Coles, was talking to  Jeff Fatt for quite a while, while our missus's were shopping. And trust me it's a lie, he dont fall asleep that often    Jeff

Had a couple of drinks with Paul Hogan and John Cornell up at the Beach Hotel in Byron Bay, and I must say that Delvene and Linda were quite tasty..

OH, and about 2 weekends ago, I cooked a steak sandwich for Martin Sacks(PJ Hasham) and 2 sausages for his kids, while we had a fundraising bbq for the swimming club at the pool.

Loads of sporting personalities, but thats boring

On business last year had an appointment Ferguson's PA at O..T......
He came in during the call and sat in for a few minutes  Evil or Very Mad

On a plus note, I did see his credit card bill with his home address so if you hear about a Stockport based Leeds fan arrested in Wilmslow it will be me

Peter Barnes lives 2 doors away from me  Embarassed

Dave Gorman

Do you know of him? He’s a comedian quite a good one really, original and inventive. He’s written some books and done a few one off shows. (Googlewack for instance). So me, half2 and a few mates (yes me too Laughing ) went to see home in town one night at the LBT.

He makes such a deal out of his ordinariness and what a great normal guy he is during the show. He asks where to go for a beer after the show, we tell him, and he says we are all welcome to join him for a chat etc etc and we all think”what a great bloke”

So we are in the Vox bar in Town and when I got back from the bogs, half2 is almost in tears. I say what’s up and she tells me she’s just seen Dave Gorman at the bar. In her own excitable way (like when she watches me undress Cool ) she says to him “oooohh your Dave Gorman weve just seen you. It was great.” Then apparently Dave Gorman roles his eyes, sighs and turns away and half2 comes back all upset.

Well my Mate big Shaun was all set for killing him and we all turn round and glare at him. Dave Gorman sups up pronto and leaves the bar. I shouts "eh Dave" he turns around and I just went “See ya” in a sarcastic way. Not very funny  Rolling Eyes I know but what a wanker. Fucking celebrities eh
Evil or Very Mad

Had a drink with Cerys matthews at Yates pub in cardiff prior to liverpool/brum coca cola cup final.
Met Geoff Capes at a book signing session in our local asda.
Met Eddie Wareing numerous times at our old rugby ground Wilderspool and hundreds of famous rugby league players on my travels watching Warrington and G.B.
