| They did look good Kev. Gleeson and King are as good a pair in the league. It was a weekened Hull Team but a very impressive Wire. We play you Four times this year which i guess is a sign of how far we have come. We got The Rhinos this aft. Maybe a suprise in store but im not expecting it.

Monaghan is a very very good player equally adept at 5/8th, half and hooker - you have got yourselves a valuable asset there.
King epitomises today's centres and wingers - big and strong and always likely to score tries from cross-field kicks.

Very disappointing really. Didn’t expect to win but I thought we’d be a bit more competitive and solid. We gifted them at least three trys and in truth the Rhinos never left second gear. They exploited our dodgy full back position, kicked brilliantly and took the chances we gave them. Well beaten in the end .
You may mock, Mr nlag but as a good day out watching honest sport, Rugby League is as good as it gets. The players are absolute professionals and I reckon next to boxers are the toughest, strongest and fittest going. They drink in the same places as the fans and are the complete antithesis to the pampered pillocks we see in football. They actually pretend NOT to be injured .The game is fast, hard, skilled and cheats free. I’ve got nothing against Union it’s a great game in its own right but league gives me everything I want in a sport.
There were 16000 fans yesterday (probably more) including 5000 from Leeds ranging from very young kids to traditional cloth cappers. The town was full of both sets of fans drinking together and walking down to the stadium together. There was hardly a copper in sight. It’s the same every week with the exception of Hulls moronic minority and the inbreds from Salford ( as you’d expect).
Leeds United are very much my first love But I’ve followed Fartown (Huddersfield Giants) since the late sixties through some very desperate times. To see the big crowds once again watching the famous old claret and Gold and competing against the likes of Leeds, Bradford, Saints and Warrington is akin to us been back in Europe again.
