I heard on the radio yesterday that even if England football team don't qualify for Euros they still get £150K bonus!!!

Qualify or not they should get nothing. They get too much already. Bunch of overpaid under performing prima donnas. Part of me wishes they don't qualify, and become the victims of a concerted vitriole against their obvious lack of passion for the shirt......And of course the Englishman in me wants the country to be represented at the finals........

I have never ever been as torn about wanting to miss out on qualification just to get rid of the england manager

30 Mill - IMHO the following points about McClaren being "good" enough

a) He wasn't the first choice and ended up being some kind of panic "buy" for the FA (IMHO)
b) He showed how "brave" he was by shitting all over Beckham and ignoring the fact that he was actually one of our most passionate players and at the previous world cup was one of only a handful of players who could hold their heads up high - I seemed to remember HIS crosses resutling in some of our goals - he didn't show him the respect he deserved as the england captain (and believe me I am not one for pandering to these over hyped over paid players) - but Beckham seems to enjoy playing for England. The "sacking" of Beckham was a MAJOR bollock as we then went on our worst run as an england team for years, losing games we should never have lost and drawing games we should have won putting us into the plight of last saturday when by some fluke Israel got a result.
c) He "stumbled" across his best team when all his so called "stars" were out injured and was forced to bring people like Barry in who never put a foot wrong and for the first time we actually looked like a reasonably decent side
d) The biggest crunch game we have had vs Russia where a result puts us through we come up woefully short - a must not lose game "LOST".

Its takes a poor man to make Sven look good (although I thought Svens appointment at the time was inspired Rolling Eyes so it shows you what I know )

International football is a completely different beast to club football and McClaren is shit at both

i never got on svens back, he has an expemplery record as manger of england and at club level, we didnt struggle like this to qualify, we're allways in the top 8 at a tournament. The press destroyed him and we think our players are better than they are. Other than Owen, Beckham, gerrard and Terry none of them are world class anymore
