What a great week it has been to be an Englishman.

First we have McLarens Muppets losing to a very average looking Russia.

Then at least the Union boys made a fight of it before being beaten by South Africa.

Now Lewis Hamilton has managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Still at least that slimey git Alonso didn't win either.

Still, at least we're not Australian.... Twisted Evil

In all seriousness though

Thank goodness I'm not an aussie Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Sorry - what I meant to say was

After all the shenanigans with the F1 scandal and the leaking of technical data to Mcclaren I think justice was done - Hamilton will get another chance he seems to be too much of a natural and can only get better (hopefully Rolling Eyes ) why they didn't take the drivers points away when they fined mcclaren remains a mystery (possibly something to do with killing the F1 season off with 5 races to go Rolling Eyes ) and I have to agree that Fernando "spitting dummy out of pram" Alonso not only not winning but also coming 3rd STILL behind Lewis made my weekend.

I have said all I can say about McClaren - total pisstake by the FA and an example of what happens when you have "an establishment" in charge Evil or Very Mad filled with men who care more about themselves than the football they are supposed to be looking after

As for the rugby - english bulldog spirit beaten by a far more professional team who played to their strengths Cool

Which may explain the current midset of winning "fuck all"

To be honest I think we more than punch our weight in a huge variety of sports. Once you remove the false "we should be the greatest at everything" mentality that still prevails in certain quarters I reckon we do ok.

conspiracy theories abound!!

best one I heard was on R5L.

At the hearing it was announced that Maclaren would lose all their points BUT the drivers would keep theirs, HOWEVER what was NOT announced was that the drivers would not be allowed to win the F1 championship so the races had to be knobbled.

WHY?

Sponsors......the sponsors would have had a hissy fit and so everyone has been allowed to think there was still a chance of a maclaren driver winning, when in reality it was never gonna be the case!

(I like conspiracy theories.....it part of being a Leeds fan Laughing )

And cheese rolling - we're world champions at that too

Please excuse my blatant wind-up yesterday, I couldn't resists it after "One Big Sporting Week" spluttered to a halt in such an undignified fashion.

Still at least BMW and Williams didn't cheat by filling their cars with illegally super chilled fuel did they? That would have been hard to take in the last race...
