Rah Rah's = Rugby Union

This was League (well it was until the K1w1's put in the most inept performance I have ever seen on a football field of any sort

BTW - 8 Melbourne Storm Players in the side - count 'em boys

We are the Champions!!!

I was at the grand final on saturday, and every other grand final since it started.
I have go to admit that the second half performance from Leeds was world class. Admittedly St.Helens were a lot flatter than Leeds but nothing can detract from one of the best ever defensive and attacking performances witnessed at a grand final that i have ever seen.

However, the Wolves will hopefully be there next year.
Some of the signings that we have made are outstanding, with King, Hicks,Monaghan and Louis Anderson.
GO WOLVES

Are there many Wolves in Warrington?

I only ask as I've yet to see any Hippo's in Leeds, Tigers in Cast-le-ford or Wildcats in Wakefield.

I hark back to a simpler time before a certain Australian who is now a Yank decided that good old names like Leeds RL and Bradford Northern weren't good enough for his new summer schedule filler. Rolling Eyes

I remember when they were Wakefield Trinity Sad (which I would like to add, is a much superior name and totally in keeping with the town and the bridge Mad )

blame bloody sky for changing everything Mad

rl was exclusively on a frigging sunday, apart from the odd challenge cup game on a saturday on bbc1.
the cnut murdoch changed all that, friday, saturday, sunday. monday and even tuesday games just to suit the bloody sky schedule, trying to fit it in between the one legged kicking championships and late night poodle lifting championships.
it has played bloody havoc with my working schedule.

Would you argue that the quality of RL is better since it changed to the "super league" or not?

IMHO I think it is much better

Rugby League was dying on its arse before it re invented itself. Its made mistakes but it never shirks from trying to improve. All this razzamataz with the Rhinos, Wolves wildcats etc was absolutely necessary to bring in the next generation of fans. Just Remember Huddersfield were years ahead of the time when they called themselves the Barracudas Cool in the early eighties. Only problem was that we were shit and skint Laughing .

Today Rugby League especially Super League is as good a sport this country has with the fittest, strongest and toughest athletes (maybe other than boxing) there is. To draw comparisons with Union is to completely miss the point. They have both morphed into two very different games but they are both superb games to be enjoyed by all. Of course Union has the world popularity that RL will never overtake and nor should it try. The two codes should work with each other to promote Rugby Full stop. I would much rather see a televised game of any rugby than the sham of a sport Prem Football is becoming. Well chuffed for the Rhinos as well and their long suffering fans. Was going to nominate them in the chokers thread but this Grand final put paid to that. Hope they can continue
