I would suggest that these empty blocks of seats are arranged in conjunction with the police for safety reasons, rather than it being a decision of LUFC.
I have no "official" information on this, but it seems to make the most sense.

But why give the Poolies or whoever else a few extra tickets and lose that revenue thats what I can't get my head around.

Sorry GE, think I understand your argument now. You are saying they should have just got the SE corner where there is already segregation, then leeds fans could have sold out the south stand? But for some reason they were given extra tickets in he south stand thereby requiring empty seats for segregation.
How are the number of away fan tickets calculated?

Yes Andy thats exactly what I was trying to say, it seems stupid to me to give a team like Hartlepool 800 extra tickets yet we lose 500+ seats at £25 a head to do that. Not only was revenue lost, there was extra policing and stewards to keep the 2 sets of fans apart.

I'm assuming the arrangements were made at a time when our home crowds were nothing like they have been so far this season, so that the 500+ seats would have been unoccupied anyway.
At least I'm assuming that's what the thinking was. Obviously it doesn't make sense when looked at in hindsight.

| Well lets hope the Club have learnt from this I'd rather see a packed South Stand full of Leeds anyday.
