Had a couple in the Brewey Tap before the game today. Hmmm??? Needs a bit of time to establish some character and atmosphere I think. Cracking beer though as you’d expect, and delivered Photogenicly if you get my drift   . Might set them on in the EL Arms.

Leeds University Union stands out as one of the only Unions that serves Real Ale. Cool

Out of the station exit in front of you as you leave the platforms and managed to negotiate your way through the new barriers  Rolling Eyes   Immediately turn right (station rd?) as if you were going into town. Its just on the left bend about 100 yards. Think there was a record shop and an estate agents there, ravey will know.

Nearly right mate - It's New Station Street.

As Halfa says, turn RIGHT out of the main station entrance (where the black + white taxi rank / bus interchange is) which is away from City Square and walk along the road as if heading for Squares or the big escalator into the shopping centre. The Brewery Tap directly opposite the brick monstrosity that is the NCP car park entrance as the road curves round - what used to be Olan Mills photographic studio.

Little known bonus fact - tucked away at the side of the NCP car park are some dingy steps leading down - go down these (both flights) and you come out just betwixt The Cockpit and The Prince of Wales and over the road for the Scabby Taps - forming a perfect circuit to get you to either back to the station or onto the Elland Road flyer.  Very Happy

I'll try and work it in to the next Leeds based outing of the West Riding Gentlemens Exploration Society then.
I used to work in 'unslet many moons ago and had many a good might out there, but never made it to the Garden Gate for some reason. Mind, that would have been back in my lager drinking days... Wink

Just been down the Rat (that’s not a euphemism). Had a couple of splendid pints by the Pictish Brewery, Millennium in this case but everything ive had by them is fantastic. Brewed just over the hill in Rochdale. Thoroughly recommended

Me mam bought that Kronenbourg with the widget in it by accident instead of normal 1664 today... It ruins it for me, seems flat and flat Lager isn't the nicest thing to drink.

Tried it and agree, it's not good.

Mind you Coors are apprently set to launch a clear lager that doesn't have a foaming head (ie looks like lemonade..?). Not entirely sure who that's meant to appeal to, but lets not stand in the way of the marketing department, eh?

I've partaken of a couple of pints of Ossett Brewery's Pale Gold today, and then a couple more of Halifax Steam Brewery's excellent Bantam.

I'm now off to bed... Very Happy
