Star Trek 7/10

If you've seen the clips, you've seen the story of the film the rest is all action!

The Pursuit of Happyness - 8/10.

Didn't go to the cinema to see this due to mixed reviews, but it really is a good film. Ideal for a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Son of Rambow 7/10

OK, but as is often the case with "British" films, didn't live up to the mountain of hype.

Reign of Fire 7/10.

Not too shabby at all, almost wish I'd gone to the flicks to see it.

Quite enjoyable and based on real events, so a history lesson as well.

James McAvoy - a fine Scottish actor. Appeared on the small screen in The Bill, then Band of Brothers and Early Doors* before a leading role in the early (best) years of Shameless.

Looks destined for great things now he's becoming established on the big screen.

* - Early Doors - criminally under-rated comedy show. Well worth a look on YouTube (or Dave if you're in the UK)

Watch Starter For 10 another good movie he stars in about Mastermind.

(the less said about Chronicles of Narnia that better)

1- Get Carter - "You're a big man, but you're out of shape. With me this is a full time job". The original obviously, not the other one of which we'll speak no more...

2- Heat - the best heist film ever?

3- Gone Baby Gone - I thought I'd hate this movie, but after watching it, it makes my top 3. Currently showing on Sky Premier, don't miss it.

Although to be fair, this list can (and does) change quite often depending on my mood.

Jumper - 7/10 - OK, but a bit too reliant on special effects. Was shocked to see Billy Elliot in it though  Very Happy

3.10 to Yuma - 8/10 - Cracking old style cowboy tale, even if the baddie is more Ned Kelly than Billy the Kid. Recommended.

The brother in law was taking my nephew to see that at the weekend for his 7th birthday treat - along with 9 of the lads mates. I wished him good luck with that!
