Ikea
We need a new wardrobe for our bedroon, so it was a trip to Ikea yesterday as a starting point. We found something in our price range, of reasonable quality, the right colour / finish, and the right capacity. So, not intending to buy, we took details and came home.
When we got home, I went on the store database and confirmed all of the components were in stock. This morning we headed back up to Lakeside in my van (so we could get all the flat packs home without delivery charges) and placed the order in the wardrobe section....We then headed to the basement to pick the order, and guess what......out of 5 components, 3 were not on the bay. So we went and queued at information for 10 minutes, only to be told the items were out of stock.
When I asked why their store database said it was in stock I was told I should not rely on that, but should have telephoned Customer Services. When I asked why they offered an unreliable online stock check system, he said I should tell head office. Well having clearly wasted a large part of my day, Dartford Tunnel charges of £4.00 and 40 miles worth of diesel in my van, I left the store disgruntled to say the least, with a pissed off missus, poorer, busier (I lost half my working day....I'm self employed....If I aint doing stuff, then nobody else is covering me) and determined not to return to Ikea unless I can possibly avoid it.

Ikea - Argos for the middle classes. Chavs sit at home thumbing through a catalogue for stuff they don' need and can't afford, the middle classes spend all day wandering round looking at similar stuff and the round the day off with a hot dog..._________________ The advert above is nowt to do with me!
