Could you fit 51 darts on the board at the same time and how many would need to be in treble twenty  I understand your theory and I believe it may be well thought through however the practicalities of 51 darts in a dart board at the same time (as you post implies) seems illogical if not a little optomistic, to begin with the darts would need to be of such thin quality that I doubt even incredibly good dart players would get used to the "grip" of such innovations to the darting world, secondly someone would have to hit a huge number of consecutive treble twenties and as the treble filled up with the majority of the 51 darts this would also mean the area to aim at would indeed become smaller and smaller and thus make it much more difficult than your standard 180 you see happen in many darts games these days, thirdly how heavy would 51 darts be, could there be a health and safety issue regarding the stability of the board with such a "front" weight being attached to it (espeically when all the weight would be in one area) would hard hats or flourescent jackets need to worn, would the pub need to get revised insurance to allow a player to throw 51 consecutive darts, would the player need to go for a medical to ensure their health is adequate to allow them to carry / throw 51 darts, fourthly (not a number you usually see very often and a word I had difficulty deciding on the correct spelling) you seem to be forgetting about the fatigue in the dart players arm to physically be able to throw 51 consecutive darts (and thats ignoring the fact that they would have to be holding 50 darts in one hand and even if we accept a new "ultra thin" dart this would still be a large number for one person to carry - I am puzzled by your "extra throw" comment and I am coming to the conclusion that maybe you have done extensive research regarding point four (or fourthly) and concluded that no dart player could carry more than the 51 darts you were giving them at the start of the marathon dart throwing session and therefore they would need to rest before throwing the other dart to get your predicted score and if so I apologies in advance for under estimating your levels of study.
I would be obliged if you could give careful consideration to my points and let me know your own conclusions in the morning

I did give some consideration, although clearly not as much as you Boxy, as to the physical demands of a 51 (or 52) dart finish. However, my theory was hypothetical and based on 3 darts per visit to the oche (obviously for the final visit would require the single dart for a successful finish in the fewest number of throws) |
