A good result for them last night, and off the back of 3 straight in the league I think. They have a couple of injury problems in midfield. This is a big game for both sides and may give a true indication of where we are in the recovery process.

I have to disagree with that statement, i don't like the man but who else has stuck by us these last 2/3 years ? Where were all the "high rollers" when they had chance to buy us out ?
Bates didn't build up millions in debt that was Risdale, we are at least on an even keel at the moment. We have team spirit at the Club I have not seen for years. Our support home and away is fantastic at the moment.
Bates goes and once again I ask the question who takes over ? Simon Morris ?

It is of no consequence that there isn't anybody to 'invest' in LUFC or indeed take over. We are where we are on 'Bates' Watch' so IT IS DOWN TO HIM and as far as I am concerned only him because he himself admitted that those Ridsdale days were long gone and there was nobody else to blame after Cardiff. And I agreed with Bates then - the fact that he appears to haveforgotten that now is another matter.
As a consequence playing Hartlepools is down to Bates but as a fan that is the hand we have been dealt so we getting on a playing it. It is because of that we have the spirit and support that we do have and we are the best in the country at doing it - it what makes supporting LUFC special. And lets face it we have had more practice at it then any other clUbs supporters!!!!!

If I send you a few bicks mate, can you build a bridge and just get over it?
We are where we are, and Hartlepool are 3rd on table (I think) so it should be a cracking match to determine where both sides really are
Im tipping 2-1 to Leeds with Beckford getting a double to outshine Moore's 1 for "little 'pool"

Of course it isn't, but how much longer can we keep blaming the prvious regimes? When Bates took over we had £25M of debt. 3 years later it's up to £30M. That can't be blamed on anyone else. Remember Bates himself said (about this time last year if I remember) that the problems from the Ridsdale era were over and we could all expect to see massive investment after christmas.

If only I could manage to stick my head in the sand like you can, then I surely would. If only I could manage to ignore the aspects of Bates that I didn't like, rewrite history to make it all someone elses fault, and perhaps listen to Radio Bates as the one true word of gospel, then I would be happy with Bates.
Believing Bates is akin to being a member of an apocalypse cult. You hand over all your money to ensure survival when God destroys the world, then listen to the excuses why the destruction of the Earth was put off with 1 minute to go.
Even in the event Bates eventually drags us back to a position of footballing sucess I will still never approve of the underhand methods he has used. I doubt you would be so forgiving if you were one of the many people left out of pocket as Bates runs to the adminsitrators claiming to be too skint to pay the bills HE ran up.
Many people were upset at Alan Smith going to Scum, but far more were far more upset at the way they saw him lie to us and the way he did it. Sometimes it is not what you do, but how you do it that really counts.
