I'm still not certain about Catherine Tate. All the way through I kept seeing her sketch show characters. I'm prepared to give her more time tho'. Overall weak story, but I wish my adipose would leave as easily 
I will be watching next week. |

I thought it was good. Not the strongest episode to start a new series perhaps, but good family entertainment none the less.
The ravey jury is still out on Catherine Tate - like you say I keep expecting her catchphrases to ring out, but we'll see how we go. Nice to see Rose, will be interestsing to see how they explain that. |

I've reached a decision on Catherine Tate.

Have to agree with you Ravey. All I keep seeing are her sketch show characters (I counted 3 last night  )
In todays Sunday paper the guy is pretty much saying the same hoping that the show can survive this tremendous gaff, having only specials next year. What was RTD doing casting CT in this role? In the words of CT 'is he having a larf'? |

Well only seen it the once and that was late Saturday after an excellent days rinse after the Game in Leeds. Think im going to go against the grain here because I thought it was brilliant (from what i can remember anyway  ). A poignant story of an arrogant society fiddling in the face of certain oblivion. Ring any bells anyone? As is usually the case the stories are riddled with analogous contemporary situations and I thought Saturdays was particularly intriguing. Then again I was rather still on the high from the day out.
Phil Davis is one of my favorite actors ever since he appeared in the fantastic though sadly never repeated Leeds based North Square. He was great as Lucius the collaborating soothsayer I think CT brings something different and unique to the stories as well. Sure she aint no eye candy or fawning dolly but I think we have to get past that and the characters she has previously played to see her role for what it is. A strong female character with her own mind who can bring something to the Dr others cant. |

I noticed that too - and did you notice the Darlek death-ray only struck him a glancing blow, when normally they zap everyone first time and that's it, they're toast? Cracking episode though and already looking forward to next Saturday night. |

BALDY!! sacrilige! So series 4 has ended. Nothing to watch on Sat'dy nights. I enjoyed the last episode but wasn't left gob smacked by it. Cybermen at Christmas tho'.............................. |

I enjoyed the last episode. As for the Cybermen I think mrs ravey hit the nail on the head when she said "what, again?" There were loads of baddies in the old episodes of Dr Who and surely it's not beyond the realms of possibility for some lazy arsed overpaid writers to think up a few more, is it??? |
