That sounded awfulNo excuse for a performance like that against a team down there. Just not good enough. Fraser sounds worse every game. We could have been 4 - 0 down when we got one back...How this side got up where it is in this league beats me.

Can anyone tell me why Macca is starting Kandol over Elding? In the few minutes I saw him against Crewe he looked lively, committed and a real handful. Basically, he was all the things that Kandol has rarely been. I just don't understand it.
We are so lucky that we are still in touching distance of the play-offs but, on tonight's showing, we do not have anything like the momentum build-up that a team needs if they are going to make a concerted promotion push.
We should never have got rid of Blackwell..!!

I don't know why Kandol started when Elding and Freedman were sat on the bench.

Well that aint how it sounded mate. Games don't always sound how they were, but Norman was not too complimentary either about Leeds' performance tonight. Cheltenham missed an open goal and hit the bar at 2 - 0 up......On a brighter note, the Angels won 3 - 0, and 4 back to back wins have seen them rise from relegation zone to just outside play offs.

This weeks fixtures were ideal games with which to build up some confidence and momentum to the season run in. April is going to be tough. I think we are 15 points off second place now, so the arbitration result aint going to bail us out.

We had a lot of the ball and were stringing passes together like it was a practice, the problem was we didn't have a clue how or what to do in the box. Kilkenny was ineffective, Richardson and Ankergan was at fault for their 1st goal. Their second was a brilliant goal. Prutten was his usual busy self. Kenton got skinned by their big fellow everytime.
All in all think today was one of those days we were never going to score even if we played all night!!!

was listening to BBC radio Kent tonight for the Rushden Ebbsfleet game tonight and heard that they were 2 up, RDFC won 3-0 fortunately and are up to 12th with 5 wins in a row (in all competitions)

Thanks Pat. We sounded clueless and toothless up front to be honest, and they sounded comfortable until we got one back. The result says more to me about their ability to come out on top of the relegation pile than it does our ability to come out on top of a play off scrap.

Absolutely baffling why we continue to play without a leftback. It seems Macca brought in Sheehan and then didn't rate him but kept him instead of Parker but Sheehan can't even get in the squad and Parker is still out on loan.
We buy Elding and don't play him yet he seems the most 'natural' of our strikers and was bought when he was bang in form. We get Freedman in and use him only as a sub. Huntington sits on the bench despite having been part of a defence doing reasonably well.
Kilkenny seems to be very inconsistent and was presumably bought of the back of a decent game against us. Carole is left rotting despite being one of our best players in the first half of the season, scoring a few and creating plenty.
I must admit I have not been at all impressed with Macca so far. A couple of fortuitous wins and lots of points lost against mediocre opposition. At least when we lost to Cheltenham under Wise we had something like 20 shots to their 2.

Never been sure Macca was the choice. What cannot be denied is that he is a very brave man taking on the mess that Bates and his little shit have got this club into.

Its the squad Wise left him I'm not too impressed with!!
If Mac is with us August (and I for one don't need another moved on manager) I don't expect to see Heath, Constantine, Flo, Sheehan, Thompson, Westlake, Lucas, Kenton, Carole or Weston to be in the squad photo with it 50/50 (due to contracts being too maybe good to leave us) on Richardson, Da Costa, Sorsa and Kandol. I also have a sneeking suspision that Sweeny, Douglas and Hughes will never play in the same midfield together again (or even if Kilkenny/Prutton/Howson/Johnson keep their form, at all) and at least one of them will want out as a consequence.
And of course theirs the "too good an offer" factor where anything over £2m gets Beckford sold or Howson on his way (especially if we are still L1), any stalling on contract or low wage offer sees Rui off and any decent continential team wants Michalik or Arkergren they will clearly be happy to go.
So put all that together and for the 7th consecutive season 2008-09 will see ER like Kings Cross station (people in and out all the time). The time to judge Mac is this time next season...meanwhile Weasel see "20,257" for what the appropraite responce to last night should be....

Macca will continue to get my support, and whilst I might vent on forum, I don't get on players and managers backs at games (not that I get to many these days)....Still not happy. confidence breeds confidence, and we needed a win.

So we can't point out glaringly baffling decisions or express discontentment? I must have mistaken the point of having a forum or are we all supposed to write in with our knitting patterns for cushions with Macca's face sewn on?

Don't be a knob, you know the difference between "I'd play Hughes/Carole/My mother" and "mac is useless already", you also know that with 10 games to go Mac is the manager till May. If you concentrated less on justifying your Wise worship and more on clinging on to the hope we scrape out of this appauling division your occasional reasonable comment on here or MOT might be notice.
Freindly advice, don't even think about starting a forum war with purile comments like above and all the personal bile that will entail, you'll find I'm world class at it..

I think the phrase 'Don't be a knob' is far more purlie than anything I wrote.
Macca so far has not filled me with any confidence, apologies if you think he is the new messiah. The baffling decisions listed are examples I used to support my opinion. You can disagree if you like but that is the point of these forums so I feel I am entitled to make the point.
I felt Wise did a good job for the majority of the season. Yes towards the end the team was achieving poor resultsalthough I wouldn't suggest they are getting any better now. Macca has so far collected a paltry amount of points against very mediocre opposition.
As for your 'friendly' advice you know where you can shove it, it might stop you talking out of it. Get a sense of humour instead.

I think the very fact that we were supposed to be offering stability to the players Wise & Poyet brought in and then seeing them fuck off at the first opportunity hasn't helped with the players attitudes. If I were in their boots (do you see what I did there ) I would be turning up for work, going through the motions and not giving a shit because no one else (other than the fans) seem to give a shit either.
Mac's appointment has been to appease the fans in the short term and leave a new owner at the end of this season the chance to bring their own people in - and I feel sorry for him that he has been left with a squad that hasn't played a decent game in 2008, has seen their "show me your commitment" manager fuck off with his tail between his legs and has been left (thankfully) in a position whereby we "might" scrape a playoff place despite being second best + lucky in many many games this season (which just goes to show how BAD the standard is in this league)

I understand the phrase is "couldn't score in a brothel".
I too have had serious misgivings about Gary Mac ever since his appointment was announced, but was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. Playing the greatest one touch football ever seen is still no bloody use at all if you can't get more goals than the other team.
I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty.

I can only hope that you are right and that everything has been geared to a change of ownership in the summer. Whilst I think Bates has done a reasonable job of straightening the finances (okay perhaps not the way we'd have liked but we are a healthier proposition than when he took over) the club needs someone to take us forward and we have to get the right manager in place. Macca may prove to be a good manager but for me a lot of decisions taken have been poor.
