Perhaps we could all do this?http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/article2193397.ece
This feature is in todays Sun and shows that you can get out and about without giving your money and custom to the big chains. So, next time you're out perhaps you could support a local independent business, rather than filling the pockets of the chains that are taking over our country?

Dave Gorman's shows and tv series are ace and always interesting though the man himself is a bit of an arse. I think i told you about our encounter with him once afte a show didnt i?
We always try and go for the imdependant outlet be it a pub, bar, cafe, coffee house etc but its getting increasingly harder. No where more personified by these grotesque chain cofee shops littering the town centers. We avoid the scam mongering penny pinching cost shaving cynical wazzocks at all costs. At the very least go to Waterstones for a cofee at least you can taste the quality rather than pay extra pounds for what originally came as standard

Still use Asda for certain items, and the atc i can get an emergence pint of milk in the wee hours.. However, these days it's all local or market items. Fish, mean, fruit, veg etc.. Walk into town buy what I need and walk home. Supporting local businesses AND getting fit at the same time!!
