Orient ratings

A proper team performance, using passing and direct in a mixed package.

Ankergen 7 - Same as always, occassional miskick and still doesn't come for crosses but his positioning and handling fine.

Richardson 6 - Decent, one vital last gasp tackle in the box, grew in confidence as we kept off his back.
Huntington 8 - Super game, good defensive work and can pass out of defence.
Lubo 7 - Good and solid with occassional signs he still needs to adapt to L1.
Sheehan 8 - best game for us just before suspension, starting to grow on me.

Kilkenny 7 Good game, passes well but also committed, could be our long term CM partner for Howson.
Douglas 6 Scruffy game, passing woeful but some decent tackles, still worries me in our box and him mouthing off at others when its him who was at fault annoys.
Howson 9 - The Howson debate is over, skill, vision, effort, MOM by a mile.
Johnson 7 - Best I have seen of him, needs more pace if playing wide but passing and especially his crossing worthy of a higher division.

Freedman 7 - Lead by example and without him balls would have been wasted, his guile set up the second if it had been on a PL pitch his shimmy would be been replayed all week.
Beckford 6 - Enigma, useless and lazy until his goal, then 15 mins of effort resulting in injury, still needs to learn what his team mates look like.

Subs:

Prutton 6 - Ok and used his footy brain well.
Kandol 4 - Woeful, 25mins of tosh, if Beckford misses Carlisle I rather play 4-5-1 than have him start.
Hughes 6 - Solid in short time frame.

Mac 9. The Mac debate is over. Set the team up right, good use of subs (except what does Elding have to do to get on before woeful Kandol??), good to hear his name chanted, 2 losses in 12 games is play-off/promotion form. For the first time I would accept L1 next season under Mac cos the football we would play would be a joy.

Looks like Howson is really growing under Mac's leadership but cynical me thinks if we don't go up we may lose him  Crying or Very sad

By enlarge id go along with that Greeny except the mean assessment of Douggy. I thought he was instrumental in holding our line in front of the back four. He was making interceptions, getting his foot in, picking up second balls and generally breaking down a lot of their play. Particularly when we were two up and looking like if they got one they may have got a second. I don’t mind him mouthing to the others his fault or not. I think we need someone like that in that position.

I think a lot of credit has to go to Johnson and Kilkenny both operating in unaccustomed roles. I thought both of them were excellent too in demanding the ball, taking it and bringing others into the game. No surprise that once they had both gone we reverted to a more robust and direct game.

What about the ground eh? Bizzare or what. A massive media area across from us and a block of flats overlooking the pitch in the corners. Interestingly there were only a few balconies in the flats that actually had people on watching the game. Do they get a discount for one of them corner flats.

You takes your pick and makes your choice, Douglas is choice 7 for me in midfield and choice 4 for holding midfielder.

Was Down with Half2 for a cultured weekend. Booked up solidly from Friday to Sunday with stuff to do. Had a good few beers in a great pub back of Leyton Tube. Birkbeck Tavern. In any case i thought from the last time i saw you before Brighton Game you and cmac had plans tp drink out of Leyton?

Re Douggy. He has his limitations of course but is it coincidence we were crap without him and now with him we are looking like play off contenders again. I know there are other more pertinent circumstances but ho de ho as you say you takes your pick. I just think he does some good inconspicuous work albeit in an economical way. Still on of course for 15th. Ill take at least the afternoon off depending on what train your getting and wether your sectioned again or not Laughing
