Orient and DoncasterSeems they will challenge any return of points to us if it affects them:

"Rest assured that if we finish sixth and lose the final play-off spot to Leeds on a courtroom appeal, we'd be straight back in court and the whole episode would drag on," Ling told the Daily Mail.
"My big gripe with any change now is that we've been involved in a race all season in which Leeds have been 15 points behind us all. Indeed, we've factored that into all our plans."
However, Leeds feel it is only fair if teams battle for promotion and against relegation purely based on results on the pitch and not other factors.
"As long as this matter is resolved by the end of the season the outcome will be decided purely on performances on the pitch which surely must be the right place," said a Leeds spokesman.
"It is difficult to believe that any club has not tried to win every game this season.
"We are seeking for on-the-field performances to be the only defining factor in terms of promotion and relegation."
How can you "factor in" something like that? Either you win enough games to go up or you don't! - just goes to show how unrealistic it was to let those with a vested interest vote on the deduction!

Maybe, or maybe because the papers misquoted or the manager spoke out of turn.

I can only presume Orient lost today because they expect us to be deducted more points at the arbitration hearing.

I am sure you are correct Weasel and the moon IS made of cheese. Personally, I am bored into submission on the subject.

Tis hard to misquote an article written by Ling in his local rag.

The statement says that comments did not reflect the views of the club, and that they were taken out of context. But then again, hardly likely that a gobby coach talks out of turn and the media report it with an angle. Since when have football managers been responsible for / allowed freedom of comment on club policy? Remind me what Blackwell was supposedly sacked for by our glorious leader?
