One Post........has been made in nearly 24 hours since I last logged on.
What gives? Is this site really dying on it's arse after such a promising start?

Very quiet at the moment - maybe everyone is in mourning
The heavyweights have gone quiet some with good reason and TBH other forums seem equally as quiet (especially when you consider they have a much higher membership)
As far as I can tell its the same people posting regularly on the forums - so as a % of membership we are doing great
For me - I am stacked out with work so I only post sporadically ATM
I wonder whether the lack of activity is also down to our slide towards mediocrity

Footballs quiet, terrorisms quiet, its a Weekend = few posts
I prefer quality over quantity, hence I post here and not on letshaveachatroom.bull.shit

Well y'know, i like the quality aspect as well but we should do something about this. This site is too good to let dwindle. I dont know what we should do but doing nothing isnt the answer

Quite agree......There are some people not posting because of personal circumstances. Some because of work commitment, and some are fed up trying to keep things ticking over it seems, and looking elsewhere for their fix.
The forum needs more members, and this should be achieved organically if possible, and not by random mass spamming of other forums. It has been proved that this does not work, and what you achieve is an extended list of members, most of whom do not really want to be here, post less than a dozen times and disappear back to their preferred home. As 30Mill rightly says, quality is important.
IMO the domain type is not helping the search engines pick the forum up. It needs to be a something.com or a something.co.uk and not a something.myfastforum.XXX. That would involve spending some money, and there is plenty in the money box, and relaunching on another host........And perhaps with a new name too if people wanted that. I think it would be worthwhile, but I am one voice. Anyone got any other ideas?
Baldy and Pat own the forum, CW looks after the design and the cash. It's up to them really where things go, if anywhere.

I think we decided cos we paid not to have the adverts we were going to wait til the subscription expired before we moved forums etc.

just to inform you all I shall be on the piste next week so I will have a busy week this one and be away the one after.
I have been having a torrid time at work (far too long and boring to go into) so haven't been bothered too much with IT.

I'm on the piste every week - don't usually stop me!

Yes mate, I have a pc, a chair, a bed and fuck all else.
Apart from a few boxes of stuff and a telly balanced on one. It will do untill I either win the lottery or pick up some rich tart who has her own place.
*chances of either of above scenarios is 500,000,000 to 1*
Other permutations are available on request

I think you are being harsh Gopher - the lottery is a mere 14,000,000 to 1
As for a rich tart.........
1000,000,000,000 to 1 would be being generous

If you've not got much space in your living room you need a nice wall mounted plasma/lcd screen. Might be worth having a quiet word in the Armley-ites ear? I hear he's had a Comet open near his home and they had four 37" LCDS 'relocated' on their first day of opening.

Have located a telly stand from freecycle, a local group who give stuff away rather than skip it, if it helps me, I will take all 2nd stuff untill I can afford to buy new, but if you do have a nice 42" wall mounted plasma going spare Armley, I will accept it gladly.
