Oldham (H) 01/01/2008Dire.
Thats a good word to describe todays performance.
Don't know what was up with Fraser, but he wasn't at the races today. Rui saved us from several likely goals, mainly covering for him.
Seb Carole ran and ran without achieving much before he was subbed.
Second best to nearly every ball, totally outplayed in midfield and bereft of ideas, passion or commitment. Lacklustre marking, or on several occassions no marking at all. Unable to string passes together.
Oldham, as may be expected of a side managed by Shez played some good football, as a team and were "up for it".
We resorted to hoofball for most of the game and were lacking width and for some reason chose to repeatedly ignore unmarked players for those surrounded by the opposition. Most odd.
Oldham were 15th at the start of today, but looed by far the better team for the enire game. Our glimmer of light came at the start of the second half with our goal - could a fightback be on? Surely not? And no it wasn't. Oldham could have had a hatful.
Champions? Not on this performance.

Well put ravey, says it all really. Been thinking about it today and have come to the conclusion they must have all been on the piss new Years Eve.
We couldnt have wished for a better opportunity to put it behind us with the next match coming so soon at home on Saurday. Lets see how they respond.

How did Kilkenny (our new signing) do for them?

Difficult to say from Radio coverage, but it sounded like he had a good game - one of their most influential pllayers.

Not 100% certain who he was but their central midfield completely dominated us. Both of them, and I am assuming Kilkenny was one of them were playing excellent passes short and to the wide players. They were both box to box players and their link up play was great. Quite excited about him. In an understated, lets have a look at him, show us what you can do kind of way.
