Have you read the books Ravey?

Its not a 'Lord of the Rings'. This film is nowhere near as dark (or as good) but it was an entertaining yarn I felt.
raveydavey

No. To be honest I'd never even heard of the books before the film came out.

Like you say looks like good entertaining fun.

Books are weird.....read all three and none the wiser! The 'elephants' with a wheel for legs are very strange.

worth reading
1.northern lights (golden compass in yankeeland)
2. subtle knife
3. amber spyglass.

Phillip Pulman - dark trilogy
raveydavey

Enchanted - 7/10.

A Disney film that gently pokes fun at all those old Disney films. Plus Susan Sarandon looking H.O.T. as the evil queen... Twisted Evil

The second in the Bourne series and part of the first in the Bourne series

In a way - "I am Legend" is a cult book from the 50's which inspired 28 Days Later, so you see my point?

Jonathan Woss's wife was heavily involved in the screenplay. Which I'm sure has no bearing on the fact he gave it such a good weview or plugged it so heavily on his chat show.  Shocked

I thought Death at a Funeral was just average - some funny stuff, but waited the entire movie to be rib-tickled  Sad

Eddie Murphy appears as 3 different characters, one of which is white. Can't think of the actor who did that before - Oh yeah, it was Eddie Murphy  Evil or Very Mad

This is the type of films comedy actors end up doing unfortunately. Steve Martin being the worst culprit.
