Money grabbing b******s!http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7184510.stm
The new "secret" The Traffic Management Act is almost with us. I say secret becuase the supposed consultation period I've never heard of it before today.
Now they'll be able to send you a ticket in the post if you've been spotted on CCTV or even if the warden doesn't manage to place the ticket on the car. Wardens won't need to get photographic proof they've ticketed the car either.
How wide open to abuse is that? We've already seen massive abuse by incentivised wardens in London simply gathering registration bumbers at traffic lights, issuing and binning tickets and the driver not knowing anything until the final demand or court date drops through the letter box.
And who outside the Post Office still thinks that the Royal Mail can be relied upon to deliver these tickets? FFS, we got an Xmas card posted on 20th December THIS WEEK! Two cheques we posted in plenty of time for bills before Christmas still haven't arrived, so I certainly wouldn't rely on the Roya Mail. So if you don't get the ticket, you don't get the option to pay or appeal it, you just get the court order / bailiff. Wonderful.
