Huddesfield H (special for NLAG)A comprehensive win over local rivals that like most of our wins this season posed more questions about our potential than it answered.
For 25 mins you won't know who was after win 15 or who was struggling. The football was dire, we were second rate and 31000 Leeds fans were wondering what possessed them to venture out in such windy and rainy conditions. Then from nowhere Douglas decides to test their rookie goalie with a scuffed 35 yarder and the keeper decides to be found wanting. After that the game hobbled to half time with Huddesfield looking more likily to equalise but restricted to long range stuff. It is also around this time the ref forgets about the conditions and starts issueing cards, how Kishy didn't get more than one yellow before HT will remain a mistery for a long time.
Come the second half cometh the kid, Howson, on for Kishy, took the game by the scruff of the neck and showed what a modicom of passing and skill can do. He was helped by the second goal coming quickly (another goalie rickitt) and a slight easing of the conditions but their was no doubting he stood head and shoulders above anyone else (including in the tackling department).
Its difficult to criticise players when your 10 points better than every other team in the division already but the fact remains our midfield lacks much in the way of creativity and our attack is somewhat "egotistic" in parts (see Beckfords and Kandol's tendency to get involved for no damn good reason) and the reliance on long ball looks even more short-sighted when our goals come from passing and crossing!!! Still it was a good win and a few more like that are always welcome.

Thanks......When I look at the squad, on paper, I don't get the long ball game. Is it time for Howson to be a regular in the starting line up? Why are Beckford and Kandol so petulant, so often? Why is this seemingly unchecked?
Seems a bit (no a lot  ) crass to ask questions after a decent week of games, points and goals. It just seems to me that we have ridden some luck this year, particularly in first halves.
