Master Chef

Anyone watching it? I think its been great. The judges John and Greg I thought were utter arses in the earlier series but they have been fantastic in this one. They seem to have ditched the rude and cocky attention seeking comments and really offer constructive advice, criticism and praise in this series.

I Started to really feel for the finalists James Johnny and Emily. All three are brilliant and totally committed and seem top notch people as well. One thing that’s become apparent is that working in a kitchen professionally is bloody hard work and im not just saying that cos of nlag.
I reckon James will win by a whisker but its going to be tough on whoever doesn’t win.

Not been the same since Loyd Grossman hung up his apron and went off to flog jars of sauce in Tescos, IMHO.

Perhaps they can have a show where people compete to be the best Ken Bates-a-like.

They can call it Master.... Shocked

Ughhhhh Lloyd Grossman (cringe smiley). Did you ever see that Reeves and Mortimer skit on him? Absolutely perfect.

Never saw it when he was in the chair only started watching it this last couple of years. When it first appeared the judges seemed more intent on creating a conflict and a celebrity persona for themselves. They were really rude and abrupt to contestants and were generally unpleasant barstewads all round. They seem finally to have settled into their role and interact with the contestants brilliantly giving constructive respectful criticisms and encouragement.

This last series has been brilliant. Now im not one for the “members of the public given a chance to shine but let’s humiliate them in the process” type shows but this one is different. All the contestants are passionate and focused purely on the culinary business. It was actually quite emotional going on their journey and all three deserve all the success they can get. It was great to see the contestants and the judges working together constructively to make them better chefs. They way these amateurs rose to each challenge they were given and excelled themselves was really uplifting.

Give it another chance ravey next series

[quote="halfaperson"]Apparently the bloke who won is a qualified barrister who gave a legal career up for the love of cheffery. He's now hoping to get a job in a top London kitchen.

He must be mad and rich 'cos he aint gonna get rich in a kitchen.

Absolutely cracking series and overall the best man won

The girl was incredibly creative - unbelievable sense of flavours - and all that at 18 - I think she could be a true prodigy - but ultimately her lack of experience let her down

I thought the Irish bloke was a very good "home made" chef but I think he was a level below the other two
