Luke Garbutt (?)http://goal.com/en/news/9/england...to-15m-for-leeds-united-teen-luke
A tribunal has decreed that Everton must pay League One outfit Leeds United £600,000 - which could rise to £1 million - for 16-year-old Luke Garbutt after the player left the Yorkshire club earlier in the summer, having been trained at their academy.
Leeds were due compensation for the manner in which the transfer was conducted, but the two clubs agreed a tribunal could set the fee. The hearing was staged by the Professional Football Negotiating and Consultative Committee, made up of representatives from the various institutions that govern football in England - the Premier League, the Football League, the Professional Footballer's Association, and the Football Assocation.
Further to the initial £600,000, Leeds United could eventually re-coup up to £1,000,000, as added bonuses are in place should Garbutt make senior appearances for the Toffees.
Garbutt, a dynamic left-back, will be further educated within Everton's youth ranks, and academy manager Ray Hall claimed the transfer was "one for the future".
Hall told the club's official website, "We are all delighted to have Luke - he is an excellent prospect and he will be allowed to mature and learn his trade with our Academy staff and players. This is very much a transfer for the future for Everton.
"It's not an uncommon move to make - many Premier League clubs invest in young talent with a view to nurturing and developing them
"I know the manager [David Moyes] will be keeping an eye on his progress, as he does with all our boys, and if he looks ready to make the next step up then he may get his chance."
The tribunal released a statement indicating they reached the compensation fee when taking into account Garbutt's age, the amount of time he had spent at Leeds, training costs, terms initially offered between the clubs, and if there was any other interest in the player.

I fucking hate this poaching of youth players - again all it does is play into the hands of the "rich" clubs and stuff the rest.
All these clubs (and not just ours) who spend time and effort finding, nuturing and developing future players only for Manure or chelski to come and take them away is utter bollocks - they may as well not have youth policies at these teams, just wait for the future stars to appear and nick them.
The whole thing stinks

It seems to be getting more extreme though and more a case of rich clubs buying them because they can and stockpiling talent. Something has to be done

Leeds United may be forced to wait to learn the level of compensation they will receive from Scumchester City for former academy players George Swan (son of former Leeds player Peter Swan) and Louis Hutton.
The cases have been sent to a tribunal after Leeds rejected an offer of £70,000 from City for the two 14-year-olds, but a hearing due to be staged on Thursday could be delayed due to illness affecting a member of City's staff.
Swan and Hutton moved to City's academy this summer and Leeds are hoping to see a repeat of last week's decision by the Professional Football Compensation Committee (PFCC) which awarded the club an initial fee of £600,000 for England Youth International Luke Garbutt.
Like Swan and Hutton, Garbutt left Leeds' academy at Thorp Arch in July to sign for Everton, who initially offered Leeds £200,000 but saw the PFCC set a fee which could rise to £1.55m depending on appearances.
