Liverpool at homeThat should bring Elland Road memories flooding back of the big match days of seasons past. Big cup game, big noisey crowd......Bring it on.

Agree about the TV game H. Let's hope Liverpool's dodgy start to the season continues.

Agree with all that
As far as telly goes, Sky have 2 matches promised (on the tuesday and wednesday) but haven't yet confirmed who.
With a London derby match and Scum playing I wouldn't necessarily expect us to be a top choice, although I think we're in with a shout.
Always a chance one of the other chnnels might pick it up and we can get it online as well.

Hope we're not on the telly as that will give plenty of 'fans' the excuse not to turn up at ER and we'll look tinpot.

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has admitted his delight at the prospect of a Carling Cup clash with Liverpool – but banned talk of the tie amongst his players.
United secured a plum fixture in Saturday's draw for the third round, landing a home game against the seven times winners and Elland Road is preparing for a huge crowd for the visit, during the week commencing September 21.
The high-profile clash will evoke memories of United's days as a Premier League outfit.
The teams have not met since 2004, the year when Leeds were relegated from England's top flight, but next month's tie will be their 113th contest.
Grayson and his players watched the draw at their team hotel ahead of Saturday's 2-1 win over Colchester United and the Leeds boss described the pairing as "a big buzz".
But he revealed: "In the team meeting afterwards, we said there'd be no mention of Liverpool from here on.
"We've got too many important games before then and if anyone takes their eye off the ball then they'll be out of the team and won't be playing against Liverpool.
"But it's a great draw for the club, the fans and the players. Cup ties don't come much better."
United are still to officially confirm the date of the tie, with Liverpool's visit likely to be strongly considered for a live TV broadcast.

The ticketing for this game is a joke, I'm a member so I could buy a ticket if I wanted to.
However, the guy I go with is not and would therefore have to go to the Stockport game as well which is a Cat A game. He's still a student and a second course student so has no loan to waste on games so can't afford to go to Cat A games as well. Therefore he wont be going and as I'm not going to ER on my own I wont be going either.
I don't mind making it members and ST's for a while followed by General admission, but if you aren't a member/ST holder and cannot make the Stockport game you're fecked.
Ludicrous.

Thats a shame - It might even ensure a small crowd at the game as it combines with it being on the telly. That will make us look good, won't it?
A workmate is a Liverpool fan and in a bout of mutual piss taking ahead of the game said that if I could get tickets he'd come to the match and take the piss during the game as well....I was going to see about tickets in the Kop , but I doubt he'll want to go to the Stockport game as well!
PS - when did Stockport suddenly warrant Category A status?
