Really disappointing performance last night and to be fair Hudds probably deserved the win. Without Beckford we never threatened and although Kandol won most of the balls in the air the rest of his contribution was poor. Couldn't see the Douglas red as I was at the far end of the Direct Golf stand with their fans but it seems that both reds were a bit harsh. I wa surprised that Howson was taken off as once again he was our most positive player but hopefully the next game will see Howson/Prutton in the middle of the park.

One final thing - our dead balls and particularly our corners were absolutely crap last night. How hard can it be for a professional to be able to beat the first man?

At least Walsall slipped up now we just need the legal boys to give us the boost that we didn't get last night Smile

Kandol was appauling, Douglas was a stupid knob, both bookings could have been avoided, Kenton played like he was drunk, if I see any of those 3 on the pitch again this season my faith in Mac will be sorely tested.

Sounded as though it was quite a good game on RL. I was puzzled by the Howson sub, he seemed the most positive player yet again!!

What a complete and utter pile of shite. Why have we got to save our most inept performance yet under Macca for there of all places? Chuff me it wasn’t as if they were any good either. What an appalling game. It’s a big wide pitch and we just could not use the space especially at ten men apiece. Douggy got sent off after twice his limitations were exposed for all to see. I can only assume Elding must be doing something unpleasant with the management for him to be not getting a game. How Kandol is chosen above him is beyond my simple football logic. So he won a few (just a few) high balls but for every win he conceded a foul or nodded on to a blue shirt. I can’t remember seeing such an inept performance on the floor. Well not since i cut some rug at the Smyths concert Cool

.His constant berating of the ref and clumsy attempts at falling over ensures he gets no decisions his way. The man is a complete embarrassment to our club and I cannot wait for him never to darken our doorstep again.

Our lack of any quality in the wide positions was brutally exposed last night. Something Macca obviously thought might happen with the appearance of Carole on the bench. I think he played for a draw as well. Neither full back were marauding down the flanks like we have seen at ER lately and seemed content to lay deep. This often left an already sparse midfield with very little option other than to pass horizontal or backwards. Kandols appalling running off the ball gave them no options and Huddersfields keen closing down completely suffocated our deep midfield play.

To me the game was crying out for both Freedman and Kandol to come off to be replaced by Elding and Prutton before they were reduced to ten. More so when that happened. All things considered and capped off by the mysterious subbing of our one lively player Howson made it a disastrous night and Maccas biggest FU since he came.

I can think of only three chances we had to score from open play. Once, when Johnson broke through down the left where for once Kandol was in a great position in bags of space in front of goal. All it took was a simple low ball in to him from Johnson but somehow he decided a hoof into touch was the best option. To be fair to the lad he did hang his head in shame and chastised himself. Not as much as the majority of fans behind the goal though. All except my mate who drearily said the useless twat would have missed it any way.

In fact he did once reach a cross but it was a little too high for him to get any real purchase on it and it rolled to the keeper. He didn’t exactly rise like a salmon though.

There was also bobbling shot come scramble in the area late on in the game when it looked like we could have scored. At the risk of appearing obsessed with criticizing Kandol I think he could have made better movement to get on the ball, he is suppose to be a striker with at least an ounce of poaching instinct. Ill have to see the replay but to be honest, like kandol id given up by then.

And yes. What about our corners and free kicks? Dear oh dear what a shambles. Kenton was the worst culprit as time after time his feeble corners didn’t make it past the front defender with four six footers waiting at the far post. It’s a frigging disgrace that a professional footballer can’t deliver a proper corner. Just who do they think they are as well when they arse about with short corners, honestly, do they think they are too good for this league. Our free kicks were terrible as well as we wasted at least four in good positions. All in all a good sesh but a horrible footballing night.

Not pleasant reading there, but can anyone actually remember when we made the most of corners and set plays?

I reckon you have to go to the pomp of the early David O'Deary days before things started to go wrong, but that might be the rose tinted memories of days gone by. Can anyone actually remember?
