I wouldn't rule out a return to Leeds United says David O'Leary

FORMER Leeds United boss David O'Leary admits he'd jump at the chance of returning to management at the 'right' club - and says he wouldn't rule out the prospect of returning to Elland Road one day.
The Irishman has been out of football since leaving Aston Villa almost three years ago and despite being touted for several high-profile jobs, he has let to return to the game.

O'Leary, 51, has been offered posts in Greece and an international position in the Middle East, while being linked with the jobs at Newcastle, Celtic and the Ireland national team over the past few seasons.

But he is yet to take the plunge back into management, if the right opportunity comes along.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, O'Leary, who took Leeds United to the semi finals of the Champions League managing the club between 1998 and 2002, said: "I've had requests to go back into football and it's not me bigging myself up or thinking I deserve a bigger job but I just felt that the jobs weren't right in any way.

"I've had lots of offers mainly from abroad and I think that can only come from people remembering Leeds in the Champions League.

"Some with loads and loads of dollars. Jose Mourinho was very good and recommended me for a really big job but I just felt I couldn't live where it was with the family really. That was about six or seven months ago."

On the possibility of a sensational return to Leeds some way down the line, he added: "I wouldn't rule that out. Most of the city would love it to happen and what would give it every chance is (Peter) Ridsdale is not involved anymore.

"We'd have to wait and see on that. My last memory of Leeds is of 40,000 people applauding me as I walked around the pitch. I left them in the top five in the country."

I'm not one who has even been on the "lynch O'Leary" bandwagon, but even I'm getting a bit irritated now. Those days are gone and he should STFU!

Can anyone realistically imagine O'Deary working under Ken Bates?!?
