Happy 60th Birthday to the NHS.Well, the NHS is now eligible for it's own bus pass.
On a co-incidental note I had to see my dentist today, who after making us wait 20 minutes past our appointment time (sat near a sign saying that patients arriving late for appointments will be charged and not seen unless they pay for the "missed" appointment...) told us that this will be the last time he sees us as NHS patients as he's leaving the practice and going private. Thats nice timing, I thought.
He was somewhat dischuffed when I told him we would be staying with the NHS and seeing another dentist at the practice, but I'm sure he'll get over it. Bollocks to that though, I pay my stamp (as does mrs ravey) and I'm buggered if I'm paying again to see the bloody dentist.
NHS dentistry is a bloody scandal, almost entirely of the governments own making, and in a sane world would be enough to see this bunch of charlatans voted out of Westminster, but somehow they seem to have gotten away with it...
