As a free country and liberator of the worlds oppressed I’m proud that we have provided a refuge from his life of misery in a cruel circus.
The initiative and tenacity I think he has shown in getting here proves he is exactly they type of person this country needs. Maybe we can swap him for some of the low life indigenous scumbags we have here. Paddy Bear will get a job, probably with minimum wage (maybe in a bar, building site, taxi rank, hotels, restaurants takeaways, you know the sort of place no self respecting ASBO would be seen dead in cos its too much like hard work   ) and a place in further education. Get some qualifications, Learn the language, integrate socially with the natives, maybe support a football team, meet a lady bear, have cubs, send them to school, university, career etc. Maybe a career in advertising, marketing Mints who knows  . What a wonderful example of integration that would be.

Paddington is an illegal immigrant. He entered the country by illegal means and is at best an opportunist, at worst a criminal. He will need to be housed, clothed and fed, at the expense of the hard working British tax payer, until such a time as his residency application can be heard. We have no reciprocal agreement with Peru, and we owe the country nothing (it is not as if we managed to invade and plunder it as part of the establishment of the empire that made us Great, so nothing in it for us there either ).
You have high hopes for Paddington . I expect the reality to be different.
At the first opportunity he will skulk off out of view from authorities. Income generation scemes may include shop lifting, house breaking, drug running and any number of minor crimes. He will realise there is easy money to be made busking with a gang on snotty nosed cubs, dressed in traditional Peruvian costumes, playing the pan pipes to commuters on the Northern Line. When the cubs are old enough, or not cute enough for begging, they will be pimped off into the seedy beast sex scene of Scumchester. Seeing this ready supply of cash, the next step will be to establish a traffic of cubs across the Atlantic. When the authorities grow wise and clamp down, Paddington will embark on a war against controlled breading programs of cubs, and major cities will be on full alert and live in fear of Peruvian bear unicycle bombers. Not the country I wanted my cubs …  Err children to grow up in.
