What would happen if I had my way:
(1) Three-year old put up for adoption by parents unable to have kids of their own, i.e. would appreciate what a precious gift a child is (2) "Father" (I use the term loosely) sterilized (3) "Mother" taken in to protective custody until new baby is born (4) New baby as (1) (5) "Mother" sterilized (6) Both "parents" locked up for at least 10 years each with no extra assistance to beat their vile habit, other than going cold turkey |

The only concern here is that the children are given the best available chance to have a decent upbringing so that they do not end up where their parents are.
The parents have a choice, the kids do not, so the authorities should make the right choice for them now. Herion does not give users many chances to get out. An old friend of mine is in a wheelchair as a result of years of abuse and battles with the drug. I have seen close up how people get sucked in, often through their personal circumstances......This is why the kids have to be got out..... In most towns, the police know who the street dealers are, but they want to catch the big fish......The police could get these dealers off the streets, but they will be replaced by others, so the police would rather know the faces and keep an eye on things. I agree with much of what Kerim says. It is an awful drug and takes few prisoners, but adults make choices and take the consequences.....At least that is the way it meant in society. |
