Delph to Citeh..?http://www.people.co.uk/sport/foo...041%26siteid=93463-name_page.html
Leeds are ready to sell starlet Fabian Delph this week - with Scumchester City poised for the £10m-rated teenager's signature.
The Yorkshire club left Delph out of the friendly win at Burnley, with City boss Mark Hughes last night confirming his interest.
Leeds did well enough without Delph and put on a big display despite losing Jermaine Beckford in the warm-up with a strain.
The League One side didn't miss his finishing as goals from Mike Grella and Andy Robinson proved enough for the visitors.
David Edgar's late goal for Burnley was a rare highlight for the Premier League newcomers.

TBH good luck to the lad.
Nothing you can do to prevent him wanting to step up to the premiership especially when they come knocking at your door (rather than him trying to engineer a move).
Just hope we have received a good price for him.
Takes me back to the days when Snodin & Sheridan were sold

I've heard a whisper Citeh were offering £10 million so presume Villa will have offered a bit less, plus some magic beans.
Sorry to see him go, but presumably this money will fund the buyback of Thorp Arch? Can't see Ken wasting it on anything trivial like new players.

Phil Hay from t'YEP has just been on 5live and speculated that the fee will be "around £5 or £6 million"

That was my guess too, with the carrot being that most of it is paid up front (as with Smith going to Scum). Bates wants cash to buy TA because ultimately he's a property dealer and you don't miss what could be a bargain deal.
I don't expect any of the money going to team improvement - not even to offer Beckford a better deal. Not because we can't afford the better deal but because Beckford would be stupid to sign. If he has a good season he's guaranteed Championship football next season even if the team don't get promoted, but only if he sees his contract out.
Not pleased but it was inevitable. What is annoying is that having waited so long that Grayson can't replace Delph even if he wanted to, we don't even seem to have maximised the fee we'll get for him.

I'd go along with that - I just hope that this time we have some suitable clauses in the Delph deal for appearances/goals, caps and a % of any future sale.
