Likely to be nowt but bollocks.
Firstly it was in the Sunday Mirror - only ever loosely described as a newspaper and vehmently anti-Leeds. Secondly: "MLSE owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors, American Hockey League team Toronto Marlies and Major League Soccer franchise Toronto FC." Clearly a massive player in Canadian sports. So why would they spend millions buying a third tier club that needs mega millions spending on getting two promotions and the stadium sorted when they can buy one of several clubs already in the Premiership for the same or less money? |
