Can we talk books on here too?Douglas Adams - The Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe
I've finally got down to reading it and if you haven't done so yourselves - do so. Its a crack up, one of the funniest books I've read. I've only just started it and I can't stop laughing.

Harry it is a fabulous book - really really funny.
There are 5 books altogether in the series - but the first is by far the most consistently funny. The others are more sporadic.
Out of the other 4 I felt the last one was the best. "Mostly Harmless" is the name of the book.
He also wrote another book (amongst many many others) called Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency - and I have been reliably informed that this was an excellent book as well

Cheers Boxy - my book is actually an omnibus with all the stories from that series in it. Plus a bonus story about Zaphod but I can't remember the title.
Baldy - I have no idea if its available as an audio book.

Indded. It was most hilarious back in the 80's when I read it for the first time. You may be interested to know it's also available as a movie now (and was a TV series too).  42

and Boxy - Dirk Gently - the art of Zen Detection - excellent - The one I remember is "The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul" in which he follows cars that look as if they know where they're going....

I think hitchhikers is a man thing 
Now I would highly recommend the No1 Ladies dective agency series. they are so 'chilling' at the end of the day. Sitting on the patio drinking redbush tea.
