Brighton (H)Just a few lasting impressions of the game which are generally pretty good. The addition of Hughes was a positive addition and this makes me think again that mixing and matching our midfield options is vital. I suppose the managerial skill that Macca needs to acquire is knowing when to do it before it goes wrong. For instance the Howson-Delph partnership ran out of steam at Peterbro but a top class manger would have anticipated that and been brave enough to drop one. Im thinking that would be what the likes of Wenger/Taggart would have done. Might be a tester for him to drop Hughes who didnt do antything wrong and bring back Robinson for the next game
Tin hat on for this one but ive warmed a little to Savage. I think hes a sound player and very probably a decent lad. So he gives some crap back to us, big deal, if a crowd cant take that they shouldn’t give it. He’s coming to the end of his carreer so isn’t as quick as he was but his appetite is still there. The way he completely ignored Beckfords pathetic attempts to wind him up was class. He probably showed him his yellow Lamborghini afterwards and said look what you can have if you do as much as me. He was also quick to acknowledge Delph as well after the game with a warm gesture, so yeah fair play to him.
Anyone else see Rui show his disappointment after we conceded the goal. He made another error that led to it so lets hope he keeps his determination next game. On the whole I thought he showed improvement but what about Lubo, chuff me, as the song goes, premiership yer having a laugh.
In the keeper debate that’s raging i think Casper is by far the better keeper, Lucas puts the jitters in defence and its no coincidence that we look vulnerable on crosses when hes between the sticks. What about Kilkennys fantastic running off the ball as well. Time and time again he made some great forward runs but wasn’t spotted, not even by Fab Fab Delph.
