Blackwell loses another playoff finalhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/8060970.stm
Burnley returned to the top flight for the first time in 33 years after seeing off 10-man Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
Wade Elliott curled in from 30 yards after a dazzling run from the half-way line to give the Clarets the lead.
Joey Gudjohnsson, Robbie Blake and Martin Paterson were all denied great second-half chances to double the lead.
United's Brian Howard had a penalty shout turned down and Jamie Ward saw red after two deliberate handballs.

I see Blackwell is blaming everything else (except himself)
Sorry but the guy did the same with us - great run of form to get into playoffs, sniff at automatic, starts to falter towards the end, team doesn't perform to it's maximum potential in the final.
Nice guy but will always be a bridesmaid
*waits for this comment to come back and haunt me

Usual old Blackie. Lovely guy until you see him under pressure or having to deal with disappointment, then it's a different story. The fact that's he's thinking of quitting tells me that deep down he knows he handled the play-off failure badly at Leeds and doesn't know what he can do differently this time.
Truth is he's a one-trick pony and his trick has proven inadequate in to two play-off finals now.
On a different note, Burnley are giving away 6,500 season tickets for next season as a reward for their fans. Can't see Cap'n Birdseye ever doing anything like that!

I heard about that and it's fantastic reward for loyal fans who bought season tickets before a certain date.
