Bates In Talks To Sell Leeds United?Apologies if this is duplicating something posted elsewhere on here, but I don't have time to check..!!
Did anyone else know he was in talks with possible buyers? It's certainly the first I've heard of it!

Well there are always rumours...but I take them with a pinch of salt.
As for the comment about the arbitration and word being that the penalty will stand...how can they possibly know that before the arbitration hearing has even taken place and evidence/positions/opinions presented to the panel.

He was always gonna sell this summer.
He couldn't sell the club for 12 months as part of the 'deal' so it was obvious he would do all he can to get as much money out of the club in the 12 months and then sell.
Lets hope we get someone we like

Seems to me that someone, somewhere is always talking about who is going to buy us. I wonder if The Mail are trying to annoy Bates with their comments, after them having to publish an apology to him earlier in the week.

Excellent journalism - no sources, no quotes etc. Christ my cat could puke up a better story.

I'm normally sceptical, but wasn't it the Daily Mail who broke the Wise off to Toon story before anyone else?
Would I be glad to see the back of Ken? Well yes, probably.
The reason I say probably is largely dependent on who he sells to and the terms of the sale.
Will the sale include ER and TA which he might or might not have purchased through an offshore company? What of Kens plans to redevelop the surrounding land?
Will the purchaser be someone prepared to take the club on with sound financial backing and planning now that Ken has steadied the ship, or will it be some dreamer who has just managed to give Ken enough of a profit to make it worth his while?
Given the current meltdown on the financial markets I can virtually guarantee that the banks won't be looking to lend to football clubs, and especially not Leeds. If the two Yanks at Liverpool are reportedly having trouble re-financing there, we have no bloody chance.
So, as usual, we'll have to see what happens next. It's always the fans who are last to know...
