Barrack Obama's InaugerationPersonally I thought his speech was simply stunning...

Yeah but it was only a speech.

True - time will tell but I have 100% more faith in him delivering than dubya
What was truly bizarre was going from watching his speech and being moved by it to Goldenballs on ITV
Talk about feeling my brain seize up in shock

"Ich Bin Ein Berliner"
"Things can only get better"
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman"
"48 hours to save the NHS"
"Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime"
Talk is cheap, especially for politicians - lets see if he delivers on any of this rhectoric.
Then I might be impressed.

my favourite bit was him and the guy who was doing the inauguration messing the oath up. you'd think he'd have learnt the words before he got there, or at least that the other guy could have read it properly.
oh, and aretha franklin singing the tune of our national anthem

Hope he is the real deal, and having watched and listened for a few months, I think he is. He perhaps faces one of the most challenging baptisms of modern power......I felt sorry for the kids to be honest.....I hope they can get som semblence of a normal upbringing.......What a soft git I have turned into

That would be 'My Country Tis Of Thee' which they always sing to our national anthem

really? didn't know that, and i'm sure the guy introduced it as their anthem. still, could be wrong, it had been going on for so long i wasn't giving it all my attention 100% of the time.

I know what you mean, but I genuinely thought the same about that charlatan Tony B-liar back in 1997 and look what an arrogant, smug, incompetent waste of space he turned out to be.
I'd love him to success, goodness knows the world needs a hero at the moment.
