Is this an April fool or for real?
'Straws' and 'clutching' come to mind
In the words of the mighty KK 'I would love it, love it, love it' if they are relegated under Shearer. He is venerated in these parts and I know its really bitchy but..........to see him fall flat on his face would just be such a joy

It can't be an April Fool as the Beeb announced it when I was driving home from Rushden's game away at Grays last night just after 11.

Actually this has to be the best time for him to take over:
He keeps the up, he cements his place as a legend at St James's.
They go down he can walk away and blame it easily on the system that was in place when he arrived, his reputation at the club intact.
Far better than if he took over at the start of the season for him.
