RIP Amos

Former Emmerdale actor Ronald Magill, who played pub landlord Amos Brearly, has died aged 87, the long-running show's website has said.
Magill joined the ITV1 soap when it began in 1972 as Emmerdale Farm, and starred in the role for 19 years.

His character was renowned for running the Woolpack with Henry Wilks, and for his distinctive bushy sideburns.

The actor, who was born in Hull, began his career at the Nottingham Playhouse, and later became its artistic director.

If you hadn't said it was the guy in pub with the sideboards, I wouldn't have a clue either. Never seen the program itself, but have seen the bushy one in trailers.

No just the fact that so many people in the public eye seem to be "shaking a seven" at the moment
