A mate of mine is a decorator and has just finished doing the offices of the inland revenue (somewhere in the country)
They spent £1000 PER ROLL on the wallpaper (25x rolls)
and
£500 PER TUB of paste to put it up
Why?
Because they had a budget that NEEDED to be spent to ensure they got the same amount next year........
This on a day when 3 of my friends were given notice of redundancy
Which now gives a total of 10 people I know who are out of work for the first time in their lives
Sorry but it fucking makes me fucking sick
Yours, fed up with the Tossers that allow this to happen

I share your anger at this type of needless expense.
It's like the MoD spending £300+ a time on office chairs, while squaddies have to beg, borrow and buy their own kit....
This week the papers have been full of stories about cuts in services that will be required after the next election, regardless of who wins. I'd wager a shiny pound that if all this sort of incompetent, needless spending were eradicated, there would be no need for any frontline cuts at all._________________ The advert above is nowt to do with me!

When we were in the Army they used to allocate rounds for use at the range - if you brought some back, you got that same amount reduced from your allocation next time
Needless to say, no rounds went back and the term "Yippee Shoot" entered military parlance

| Bad enough it happens in the private sector. Public sector is a given, and a disgrace

Being in the artillery we had to, at times "get rid" of surplus rounds. Imagine the destruction of a full fire mission continuing for hours. One time we were on the impact ranges for several days "practicing"
Only other time we had a high rate of fire was in the Falklands. When we asked why, we were told that if we had owt left then the following years allocation would be cut????? crazy innit.
