£5,500 bill after Millwall fans trash buses
BUSES trashed by Millwall fans at Saturday's match at Leeds United suffered damage which will cost thousands of pounds to repair.
The vandalism caused 21 broken windows on six buses and has left Leeds bus company First with a £5,500 bill.

First provide the special service to transport Millwall fans from Leeds City Station to the Elland Road ground, before and after the match.
Now bus bosses are considering whether they will carry Millwall and other potentially trouble-causing away fans in future, after disgraceful scenes at the match.
Charles Donnelly from First said: "The buses were in an appalling condition with glass everywhere. The vehicles will require very careful cleaning to remove the broken glass splinters.
"We are bringing in contractors to replace the windows. As it stands, First will be paying for their replacement, but we are still waiting to hear if we can get help with paying the bill.
"We have had damage and vandalism over the years but nothing on this scale.
"We will have to think very seriously about the provision of transport at future home matches between Leeds and Millwall."
First Bus was asked at short notice on the day by West Yorkshire Police to help transport the away fans.
"First hope to be better consulted about police strategy on planning for public order problems like this in future," said Mr Donnelly.
"We have tried to help the police to control public order by moving the fans, but unfortunately we have paid the price."
Around 800 Millwall fans attended the game, which had a 30,000-plus crowd.
First estimates that the damage will cost up to £3,950 on glass and £1,500 on labour.
A total of 21 windows on six buses were broken.
Now that seems a bit expensive to me. Bear in mind that First only ever use old sheds on footy services, so £190 or thereabouts for each window seems a bit on the steep side for what is essentially a flat piece of unlaminated glass to go in a old bus... |

| Should stick the animals in cages and transport them either out to sea, or to the game loaded on the back of a semi trailer

Aren't those two hanging out of the bus window about to join Ant and Dec in the jungle? |
