6-4 Could have been the final score last night. Our defence has gone to pieces and I think Lucas is central figuratively and physically to a lot of that. He is clueless on crosses. As well as running the show in our attack Becchio was our main set piece stopper again. Its exasperated as well by the ease their forwards were getting in front of full backs and behind our central two. Number one priority is to get that sorted out and I suggest George Graham type siege mentality training sessions with four defenders facing 8 attackers all morning three times a week. This is the one area that’s going to cost us if we don’t sort it out and the one area I though we had sorted at the beginning of the season.

I didn’t really think Orient were any great shakes, very lightweight and not particularly threatening until we started panicking in defence and they took inspiration from it. They’re tidy enough and will take points off the top teams at home i reckon

I realise Johhny H was playing out of position but wide midfield doesn’t always have to mean left winger and there where times he hugged the touchline unnecessarily. I suppose that’s down to inexperience but he looked like a fish out of water.

In general I thought we passed it reasonably well. Id rather the ball ping sideways while we search for opportunities than simply hoof it into the channels. It would help though if Beckford occasionally showed for it though. He just leaves it for Becchio to do the dirty running and receiving. Don’t really share the slight disenchantment towards Kilkenny either. Think he’s a gam player, definitely not a shirker and an intelligent runner off the ball. If anything he isn’t receiving the ball as aften as he should and thats down to a lack of confidence in our passing game. This i think is getting better but needs more time to develop and mature.

We have got to to finish teams off. Beckford was a tad unlucky for sure but his efforts that hit the post were all on the wrong side of the post if that makes sense. Robinson came on and made a few runs into the danger area and put a couple of crosses in.

Frazer still frustrates one minute brilliant has in the cross for the second goal the next utterly comical as he punts a ball into touch and the next downright crap as he let their man get in front of him to miss a sitter.

Improvemet though for sure, coupled with a win hopefully on saturday and if other results go as well as they did last night well be in a good position
