If Jamie Milner goes to Liverpool it will be a waste of his career to date. he will not get regular games and will not be a first choice player.
IMHO he should go to Villa where Martin O'Niell will make a brilliant player of him.

I have to agree.
There are several potentially very good "home nations" players languishing in the reserves at one or two clubs, where no doubt they are highly rewarded. For the sake of their football though they would be better securing a first team place elsewhere - and who knows, mabye breaking up the current top 4? |

| Usual inevitable story. The richest clubs can pay the players the highest wages to be part timers and sit on the bench or stands. Less wear and tear on the players so their careers are extended and they also deprive would be rivals of good players. It stinks and is to the detriment of the game

Many Englishmen warm the benches whilst the 'foriegn' players get the games, improve their skills and leave our national game behind. Its doesn't matter that the English premier league is the 'best league in the world' (as spoken by numerous footballers) because there are hardly any opportunities for English players in that league.
By 'best league in the world' the players of course mean best paid
If English players are playing 2nd div (old money) or warming benches, then how can the english national side hope to compete at the highest level.
Now I know you all gonna say that the national side is full of prem players, I agree, but there is no strength or depth to it. When teams like Arsenal play 0.3% of english players per game that stands up for its self as a statistic.
Not that I really care cos I either cheer for Brasil or Italy.....much more pleasing to the eye |
Had I (or Gopher) psoted that comments it would have been shollow and sexist...
