| Could be bad news for Thommo, methinks. If he doesn't start delivering soon he'll lose his place, captain or not.

But surely this is good for the team? Thommo should be dropped if the team will benifit from his replacement by a better player? |

Who cares. One thing that I'm glad about Wise being in charge is that now we no longer seem to have "job for the boys" team. Each one has to fight for hos place, or seems to do anyway!!
If Thommo wants the place bad enough, he'll pick his game up, if he can't then thanks very much, but goodbye, imho!! |

Oh, I agree that it's good news for the team, club and fans. I don't think Thommo has really done enough compared to how much the rest of the team have upped their game. He seems rather too happy to just sit around the center circle and spray out passes when he has the chance and take the odd free kick.
I don't think that's enough, and TBH we've done better with Hughes and Douglas in the middle, though they lack the vision to be really creative.
From what I've heard of da Costa he can play in the role Thommo has, but he's a lot more mobile so the threat wouldn't just come from the center circle. I expect him to have to wait for his chance, and the likes of Westlake and Weston will be challenging for a starting spot too, but I think Thommo had better pull his finger out if he wants to keep his place in the team.
This is a good thing though.
